I recently had the opportunity to try out a Weighted Jump Rope purchased from Amazon, and today I will be sharing my experience with this product.

In addition to my workouts provided by my personal trainer at Mind Above Fitness, I decided to spice things up with a few Weighted Jump Roping Sessions on the weekends.

I chose to add a weighted jump rope to my exercises for 2 key reasons:

  1. To unleash my inner child while getting some cardio in
  2. To work on strengthening my entire body

However, jump roping with a weighted rope offers even more benefits than what initially came to mind.

  • Target new muscles
  • Improve bone density, as discovered in this 2015 study.
  • Improve coordination
  • Increase power in your vertical jumps

… and more!

With so many benefits, I figured it was worth a try.

So, once my Weighted Jump Rope arrived at my doorstep, I immediately put it to use. I tried several different HIIT Jump Rope workout routines over the past couple weeks, and I will definitely say that it has been quite a challenge.

I even discovered afterwards that I had sore muscles that I never even noticed before, but this was good news for me! It meant that I was targeting muscles that don’t get a whole lot of action when doing my other workouts. It was the perfect supplement to the workouts I was already doing with my personal trainer!

I am seeing results already so I do plan to continue with my weighted jump rope exercises. As an added bonus, I was able to get a super cute jump rope color that matches many of my workout outfits. 🙂
