Tips to Keep in Mind
To make the scavenger hunts as enjoyable (and educational) as possible, there are a few tips you should keep in mind.
- Make sure everyone is dressed for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes.
- Instead of letting kids collect things from nature, encourage them to leave each item in place so as to not disrupt the living creatures who may be relying on these items. This will also make it easy to continue the hunt without carrying a bunch of extra stuff. (This is also why having a printable checklist is super helpful).
- Try to avoid crawling into or walking through bushes, trees, or potentially dangerous areas. Of course, we want to keep everyone safe!
- BE PATIENT! Trust me, you’re going to need some patience.
- Remember to have FUN!
