Looking for a special way to treat Mom this Mother’s Day?
Sure, the flowers and chocolates and delicious brunch are nice. But what every Momma really needs is some extra time to focus on themselves. Speaking from personal experience, self-care is something that often gets neglected as a parent.
I personally feel that Mother’s Day is one day of the year when we should be able to delegate our workload to someone else and just focus on ourselves. (Of course, I highly recommend prioritizing self-care every day, but I get it. The schedule can be hectic).
If you agree that Mom deserves a little extra TLC and time to prioritize her own wants and needs, here are some steps you can take to treat her to the Ultimate Self-Care Sunday.

Make It Personal
What does Mom really like to do? It may even be an activity she normally doesn’t have time for. Really think hard about this, and don’t be afraid to just ASK HER if you really don’t know.
The idea here is that you want to tailor the day to her unique preferences. Maybe she enjoys yoga so find a way to incorporate yoga into her day. Perhaps she enjoys live music so figure out a way to make that happen for her.
Whatever the case may be, you want to make sure this day is designed specifically for Mom. That extra touch of personalization will make it that much more special.
Clear Her To-Do-List
Delegate, delegate, DELEGATE. Clear her normal to-do list (while ensuring that things are still being taken care of, of course) so that she can actually focus on herself today.
The kids can even join in on taking over Mom’s normal tasks for the day. These tasks may include cleaning, cooking, caring for children in the home, preparing backpacks and lunches for the new week, or anything else that may normally be on her Sunday schedule.
And don’t be afraid to ask her to provide you with her to-do list so that you can help out!

Prioritize Comfort and Relaxation
Comfort is an absolute must for Self-Care Sunday and if Mom plans to chill out at home this Mother’s Day, you can make sure she is as comfy as possible.
You can make sure she has some cozy loungewear, a robe, and even some slippers to chillax in throughout the day.
If she’s an animal-lover like myself, I highly recommend surprising her with a pair of super cute and fuzzy animal slippers like these Bichon Frise Slippers by Everberry® which are available on BunnySlippers.com — I previously featured our adorable bunny slippers from the same company in this post.

You can also opt for a pair of heated slippers for Mother’s Day. These cozy slippers will not only keep her feet warm and toasty on chilly days, but they also offer a soothing solution to tired, aching feet after a long day.
As an added bonus, incorporating this self-care gift into her daily routine will serve as a constant reminder of the love and appreciation you have for her, making every day a little brighter and more relaxing.
Don’t be surprised if she can’t stop raving about the luxury of heated slippers, making it a memorable and cherished gift for years to come.
You can also help set the mood for Self-Care Sunday with scented candles, relaxing music, plants, and flowers, and even take the rest of the household out for the day to give Mom some alone time.
Close Out Her Self-Care Sunday With a Special Dinner
After a day spent relaxing and catering to oneself, it’s always nice to enjoy a special meal with your loved ones who made it all possible. So go ahead and make or buy Mom’s favorite dinner and enjoy it as a family.
And if you want to make it extra special, you can get fancy and have dinner by candlelight or even take her out for an evening picnic.
These Self-care Sunday ideas can of course be re-purposed for anyone (even if they are not a parent). But with Mother’s Day right around the corner, there is no better time than now to start preparing a special day filled with relaxation just for Mom.
