Benefits of Making Your Own Deodorant

Making your own deodorant is an easy and affordable way to ditch chemical-filled store-bought products and create something that’s healthier and better for the environment.

As an added bonus, you get to customize the scent and strength, making it perfect for you!

Step-by-step Guide to Make Your Own Deodorant

This deodorant recipe uses just 3-4 ingredients. This DIY natural deodorant is also better for you (and more cost-effective) than many of the deodorants found on the shelves at your local store.

So let’s get to it.

Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

You will need:

Step 2: Mix your ingredients

Start by melting the coconut oil in a double boiler or in the microwave.

Once melted, add the baking soda and arrowroot powder and stir until everything is evenly distributed and you have a paste-like consistency.

Step 3: Add a few drops of your favorite essential oils (optional)

Once the mixture has cooled to room temperature, add your essential oils and stir until everything is evenly distributed. This will give your deodorant a pleasant scent.

Special note: Make sure your selected essential oil is diluted and safe to use on your skin before adding it to your mixture.

Step 4: Pour the mixture into a container.

You can purchase a deodorant container from a craft store or online.

Step 5: Store it.

Place the lid onto the container and store it in a cool, dry place.

And that’s it! You now have your own homemade deodorant. Enjoy!
