The color of the pumpkin doesn’t really matter much, but this project does come out really cool on a white pumpkin. I prefer to use plastic pumpkins so I don’t have to worry about them rotting. This is such a beautiful piece of art, you will definitely want to keep it forever.

This is also a pretty simple project. Simply pick the crayon colors you like, remove the paper from each one, glue them to the top of your pumpkin and warm them with your hairdryer. You’ll see the crayons begin to melt coating your pumpkins in a mix of beautiful colors! Make sure you have something underneath your pumpkin to catch the extra drip.

Pine Cone Mummy

  • Pine Cone
  • Glue
  • White felt
  • Googly eyes

Here is another easy peasy Halloween Pinterest project for you. Cut your felt into 1-2″ wide strips, glue to one end of your pine cone and begin to wrap it all around. Once your pine cone is mostly wrapped, glue down the end piece of the felt and add googly eyes. Then proceed to wrap the pine cone in felt one more time to make it appear that the googly eyes are peaking through the wrap.

Puffy Ghosts

I tried this project with a group of first graders a few years ago, and they absolutely loved it. You can print off a ghost template and cut it out on black paper for the kids to glue cotton balls on the front. You can then use the black paper to cut out eyes and a mouth for the ghost.

If you like, you can punch a small hole in the top and tie some string through it to use as a necklace or hanging decor.
