Although it’s actually not anyone’s business what you do for Christmas, consider giving your friends and family a heads up that this year you’re having a quiet celebration at home without all the visitors. Some people may get annoyed or offended, but most people will understand. For those who aren’t understanding, don’t let it get to you. It’s really not your problem because it’s not your responsibility to organize Christmas for everyone.
Order everything online:
People stress themselves out with shopping, which is something that can be pretty stressful any time of the year, let alone in the run up to Christmas. Nowadays we’re lucky that we have the option to shop online if we wish. If you don’t want to face the shopping chaos that tends to come with Christmas, just order everything online and make it easier on yourself. This includes things like food and alcohol for your household, and not just gifts that you’d be getting for people.
Switch off technology:
If you truly want to enjoy a relaxing Christmas at home, taking some time away from work, social media and even your phone is a good way to start. You don’t have to abstain completely over the holidays because obviously there are people who you’ll want to wish a merry Christmas, but there’s no need to be glued to social media if you’re trying to unwind. All these things will still be there when Christmas is over, so take some time out to focus on yourself and your family.
Have lots of movie nights:
Christmas is the perfect time of year to snuggle up on the sofa with some good food, a nice drink and a movie. There are plenty of great movies showing over Christmas, whether on TV or on streaming platforms like Netflix, so you’ll certainly not be short of options.
