Ice skating is a fun way to squeeze in a workout (and maybe even get in a few good laughs). This is also a great social distancing activity that can be followed by hot cocoa or even a cozy bonfire.

Rent out a cabin and get away from all the noise, even if it’s just for one night.

Cookie or Hot Cocoa Tasting

Set up a cookie or hot cocoa tasting either at home or a local restaurant. This is a unique date idea that can really be a lot of fun. You can even turn it up a notch and turn it into a cookie bake-off or hot cocoa mix-master challenge that ends with a tasting.

Give Back to the Community

Turn your date night into an opportunity to give back to those in need. You can volunteer at a local soup kitchen, food pantry, coat drive, or anything else you have in mind. I mean, this is the season of giving after all.

Check Out Some Christmas Lights

Whether it be a drive-thru experience or a walk-up show, nothing says “Merry Christmas” like a beautiful Christmas light show.

Even if you just drive through the neighborhood and check out your neighbor’s light displays, this is still a fantastic way to bond with another and really get into the Christmas spirit.

Release that inner child of yours and have some fun sledding! Playful date nights like this one, are great stress relievers and can really bring you back to that childlike space.

Christmas Movie Night!

Of course, this one had to make the list.

If you don’t mind breaking away from the parents’ night OUT concept, hang out at home, pull out the hot cocoa and popcorn, and binge-watch all your favorite Christmas films. From Home Alone to Bad Santa, there are so many great films to choose from!

Alternatively, you can see if your local movie theater is showing any Christmas films.

Go Visit Santa

Yes, WITHOUT the kids.

Stop by to say hello to Santa and maybe even get a few silly photos to share with the kids later.
