About the Brand
AENO is a private-owned skincare and cosmetics company that produces 100% natural and organic skincare products. Their products are manufactured in the USA and they sell their products directly. No middleman is involved.
They use only dermatologist-approved ingredients in their products and even offer a no-risk 100% money-back guarantee.
My Experience
First, let me tell you a bit of my backstory.
I have struggled with acne and scarring since middle school. This is primarily due to genetics, but I do also have very sensitive skin. I have worked with numerous dermatologists to treat my acne often with little or no results.
I have made changes in my diet, laundry detergents, skincare routine, and more to address my skin concerns. It has truly been a journey.
Throughout this journey, I have discovered a handful of products that have helped quite a bit. But I have also tried quite a few products that did not help at all (some have even worsened my situation).
But I say all of this to point out one simple fact. . . my skin is quite difficult. But I am willing to take the steps necessary to find what works. And first things first, I need to eliminate those nasty ingredients from my skin and hair care products.
Aeno Acne Treatment Natural Cream
Let’s start with my experience using AENO’s Natural Face Cream.
I used this product for about 30 days after washing my face in the morning and at night. I also decided to use it on my back to see if it would help with acne scarring.
The ingredients included: Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Jojoba, and Tea Tree so it was quite promising. However, after 30 days, my acne only seemed to have worsened on my face so I discontinued use. This may have been premature, but I decided to go back to my old products. It is also important to mention that it made my face super greasy as well. People always thought I was sweating. Haha.
There could have been several reasons why I didn’t see the results I sought with this product.
- I was simultaneously using a cleanser from a different brand
- I only used the product for 30 days before discontinuing (could’ve been that whole it gets worse before it gets better concept).
- The summer heat and excessive sunlight could’ve played a role
I may give this product another try in the winter to see if it is the same issue. I may even consider using it for longer than 30 days to see if the situation ever improves.
I do think it is important to note: this product did GREAT with the acne scarring on my back. I actually still use it at night on my upper back where I suffer from acne scarring, and it is getting clearer and clearer by the day.
Conclusion: Not so good for preventing or eliminating acne on my face, but fantastic at ridding my back of acne scars. I will continue to use it on my back.
Aeno Cystic Acne Treatment & Scar Removal Balm
This part of the review will be super short. Why? Well, I have yet to be able to open this container of Herbal balm.
It came wrapped in plastic but the container was all greasy from spillage that must’ve occurred during shipping. And several months later I still can not screw the lid off to even try the product. I think they just need to change the container design altogether.
Maybe I’m the only one having issues with opening this product (then again, maybe not). But I’m seriously done fighting with it.
Aeno Acne Patches with Salicylic Acid
Okay, I have only tried these acne patches one time and I am willing to give them another try. I did not see any results after leaving it on overnight. My pimple looked exactly the same the following morning after washing my face and sticking one of these on. They do recommend sticking on the patch without any other treatments, so I skipped my night moisturizer.
However, I am going to give it another shot. Next time, I plan to wash AND moisturize my face like I normally would at bedtime. And THEN, I will put one of these patches on.
It comes with 120 patches and is waterproof and breathable which I love. I didn’t have any issues with it drying out my skin or exacerbating the acne so that’s a plus.
So what’s the verdict? I have immediate plans to try the acne patches again and will update my review once I do.
Is it Worth the Purchase?
Overall, is it worth the purchase? In my opinion, not for me. I did get some results with the cream for the scarring on my back but I was really hoping to actually be able to use this for my face as it is after all a FACE CREAM.
I’m still a bit pissed off that I can’t even open up my balm but may consider taking a hammer to it to crack it open. If that works, I will give it a try and update this review. But I definitely do not have plans to add the balm into my shopping cart again.
I am still giving the acne patches a chance, but as of right now, it isn’t giving me enough to say I’d buy again.
