Sailor wooden ornament
Dad decided to make an ornament too. I’m not sure how to feel about his. In my opinion, it looks unfinished. But maybe I’m just closed-minded and this is indeed true art.
Wooden bird ornament
I made a little birdie. Look how cute it is.

The girls had sooo much fun painting their ornaments. They didn’t make much of a mess either. Can you believe that?

We tried to get a little fancy here. We wanted to add some Holiday cheer to our dining room table so we grabbed a couple of cylinders a big Apple-Cinnamon scented candle and some mini-ornaments, pine cones, etc. and let our creativity fly. I think it came out kinda nice. čÖé
I took some leftover gold and red tinsel and weaved it around a wire Wreath frame. I then added a few flowers to liven it up a bit. We added some gold glitter to the ivory flower to really make it POP.

We still have a whole bunch of other Holiday projects on our to-do-list so the fun is nowhere near over. This is such an excellent time of year to squeeze in some good ol fashioned quality family time and I am going to take full advantage.

Tonight is our third night of our “25 Days of Christmas Reading Challenge” and we will be reading The 12 Days of Christmas. I have a feeling the girls are going to like this one. čÖé

My family doesn’t celebrate Christmas, but we get together often and make a real event of it. So we – and the kids – never feel like they’re missing out on anything. One of the best parties we had was a luau, complete with professional dancers. It was a blast!

  8. I love to decorate and we usually put up 6 trees in our home. There is something about the soft lights and the sparkle of the ornaments which always reminds me to look for the beauty every day. I love using glass cylinders because they are so versatile! I have some glass vases and uses them seasonally. Blessings to you!
