My 5 Year Old Said Being a Mom Would Be “Easy Peasy,” So I Let Her Be Me for the Day

After my 5 year old chimed in on a conversation claiming that being a Mom would be “Easy Peasy,” I decided to let her spend a day in my shoes. Here’s how it went:

She had to wake up a little earlier than she had planned because we were hungry and waiting for breakfast.
She made cheesy eggs and waffles for her little sister and herself. She did burn the eggs a tad bit in some spots, but she did pretty good overall.
Gotta make Mommy’s green smoothie for the morning! She was so focused. LOL.
Dish washing time! Can’t let those dishes just pile up ya know.
The aftermath. I think she gave both herself AND the dishes a bath. BUT the counters could use a little cleaning anyway. 🙂
She had to go shopping so I gave her a little shopping list before she ran off to WalMart.
She got everything on her list PLUS some other things we needed that I had forgot about.
Yay! Shopping COMPLETE!
Loading up. . .

Lunch time back at home! Her little sister was whining the whole time because I guess lunch wasn’t being made quick enough. Welp.
She got a brief break while I washed her hair but then it was right back to work! There is lots of cleaning to do around here today.
Time to take the ferret to get her nails trimmed!
Waiting for the ferret, talking to the employees and customers.

Checking things off her to-do-list. She’s making progress!
Laundry, Laundry, Laundry
She was too tired to finish everything on her list. She didn’t get to writing that blog post, going through the bills for next month, doing her baby sister’s hair, or putting her sister to sleep. Right after she ordered and ate dinner, she came upstairs and fell asleep… before sunset. Lol.

She certainly did a good job handling her responsibilities for the day, but as she learned, “Mommin’ Ain’t Easy!” She told me she actually enjoyed being Me, but it was A LOT of work. Yep. But you know what… if this gets her in bed before 7pm every night… we may just make this a regular thing. Ha.
