If you have been following my blog for a while, you may be familiar with my 5 year old entrepreneur’s candy Bouquet business. For those who are not familiar, my 5 year old, ‘Ailani started her very own business last year creating candy bouquets.
She has been doing a pretty good job of keeping up with the holidays and creating bouquets appropriate for the season but this year she has set new goals for herself. Yes, my 5 year old is a goal-setter (just like her Mom). For starters, she wants to sell bouquets at more events. She really likes the idea of having a booth set up where she can sell her bouquets. She loves talking to people and processing transactions like a “big girl.” So, Mommy has to do her part and get us booths at special events this year. *Adds to my to-do list*
‘Ailani also wants to start shipping bouquets! Yikes. This is one thing I have been hesitant on trying to figure out but I guess it’s time. As her business grows, we are finding that the need to ship is growing as well. So, there is another thing I am adding to my to-do-list.
I am so proud of my little big girl for really taking this HUGE step and learning the ropes of entrepreneurship. I think it is so important to teach our children early on about entrepreneurship. My 5 year old is learning so much by running her own business. She is building her confidence and a strong work ethic early on and she LOVES being a little boss. Haha.
Even if she doesn’t stick with her business as she grows older (even though I am hoping she does). She will have gained so much from starting ‘AiKandi Bouquets™. Not only is it something that she can add to her very first resume, but she will also have acquired quite a bit of discipline from being a business owner.
I could go on and on all day about all of the benefits of encouraging your child to be an entrepreneur but I won’t. . . at least not in this post. Ha. Stay tuned for my post on all of the benefits of being a Kidpreneur. Be sure to follow my blog to be notified when that post is live.
Also, I will be launching my course on Business-Building for Kidpreneurs next month so make sure you join my mailing list to stay updated on when the course opens. There will be a VERY limited number of spots available (U.S. only) so make sure you are one of the first to know so that you don’t miss out. This course will be SUPER valuable for anyone interested in helping their child start their own small business. You can join my mailing list here to be notified when enrollment opens.
Do you have any words of encouragement for ‘Ailani as she continues her journey as an entrepreneur? Please share in the comments.
Feel free to share this post. I would love to inspire other parents to help their children tap into their entrepreneurial spirit. 🙂
