15 Parenting Hacks That Will Make Life Easier

I’m always scouting for effective parenting hacks and tricks to help make my life just a little bit easier. I’m not at all interested in any unnecessary stress-being a parent already comes with a few natural stressors of its own. So, while I was on my hunt this weekend, I thought to myself hm, maybe I should share some of these great tips I just gathered with my awesome readers. I’m sure my fellow parents out here could appreciate these wonderful hacks that I’m about to share with you. So, let’s get to it. Enjoy!

-Keep a spray bottleof water in the car on hot days to use to cool hot seatbelt buckles  (doesn’t have to be COOL water inside the bottle-the evaporation of the water is what does the cooling).

-Put rubber bands around the soap pump nozzle to limit the amount of soap being pumped out.

-Cut a sticker in half and put it on the inside of your child’s shoes to get them to put their shoes on the correct feet. The sticker halves should match up when their shoes are on if on the correct feet.

-Remove splinters without the extra pain: blend baking sodaand water into a paste and put on splinter. The baking soda pushes the splinter out saving your child (or yourself) a lot of pain.

-Use WD-40 to remove crayon.

-Use a wad of kleenex to teach your child the correct way to hold a pencil when writing. Put the Kleeenex behind their last two fingers while they’re holding the pencil.

-Use underwear with cartoon characters on them when potty training your child to encourage them to use the potty more often.

-Utilize a bulletin board to help you stay organized: You can use this board for chores, your child’s daily schedule, reminders, etc.

-Use an inflatable pool indoors as a safe play area for your little one.

-Use fabric softener and water on doll hair to keep the doll’s hair soft.

-Use old sheets to create art.

-Dip a lollipop in medicine and let the child suck on it each time you dip it, they can finish the lollipop when the medicine is gone.

-Stick silicone cupcake liners in your car cup holders to keep them from getting sticky and gross.

-Fill an ice tray with aloe and freeze it then use the cubes to treat sunburns.

-Eat marshmallows to soothe a sore throat.

I hope these parenting hacks help you out a bit. Leave a comment if you currently use any of these and let me know how it’s working for you. Happy Parenting!

  3. I feel like that inflatable pool idea is super genius but my kid would have climbed right out as soon as he learned to pull up. I gotta do the sticker thing, I have trouble getting the shoes on the right feed since he moves so much and the shoes look the same anyway. Dressing another person is hard heh. Marshmallows on a sore throat huh? I haven’t heard that one before, sounds like a good one to try.

    1. The sticker trick is really effective. It seems like My 5 year old took forever to start putting her shoes on the right feet. Lol. So It would have been helpful to have known about that hack early on.

  4. OMG I love the spray bottle! Totally telling some of my hot-living mama’s about this!

  5. Welp, my 1 year old did just decide to color on my glass door with a crayon and honestly, I have just been looking at it for a week now because I know soap and water or even glass cleaner is just going to smear it. Guess I will break out the WD-40 tomorrow and give it a go!

    1. Definitely give it a try. Good luck!

  6. Life hacks are awesome. I love the idea on the frozen aloe for a sun burn. I wish I had seen that earlier in the summer when the hubby burnt his shoulder. Hopefully we won’t be dealing with any more burns in the near future but if we do I will totally try that!

    1. Aww. Sunburns are no fun. My 1 year old gets them very easily. But definitely try the frozen aloe if necessary in the future.

  7. These are excellent tips! Gotta try the sticker trick, too
